Breast Surgery in Istanbul
Breast procedures are among the most common aesthetic–plastic operations worldwide. The reasons vary: changes after pregnancy/breast-feeding or weight fluctuations, congenital asymmetries/deformities, and physical symptoms caused by very large breasts. The aim is always a harmonious, functional, and natural shape in the right proportions—not a one-size-fits-all “look.”
Methods include augmentation, reduction, lift, and implant exchange. Results are long-lasting but not unchanging for life: tissues age; weight and pregnancies alter the breast; implants are not lifetime devices and may need replacement over the years (e.g., capsular contracture, position change, rupture, or a new aesthetic goal). As with any operation, risks exist: bleeding, infection, wound-healing issues, visible scars, changes in sensation, thrombosis (rare) and, implant-specific, capsular contracture, rupture/leakage, or—very rarely—implant-associated conditions. Careful indication, counselling, and structured aftercare minimise these risks.
Options at a Glance
- Breast Augmentation: with implants (e.g., Motiva/Mentor; shape, size, and plane are individualised) or, in selected cases, with autologous fat. Focus: volume, projection, symmetry.
- Breast Reduction: removes glandular/fat tissue, reshapes and relieves—often easing back pain and skin problems.
- Breast Lift (Mastopexy): elevates and shapes descended tissue; can be combined with a small volume update (implant/fat).
- Implant Exchange/Revision: for a different size/shape, capsular contracture, position change, or technical defect; often combined with a lift.
- Gynecomastia in Men: goal is a flat, well-defined chest contour.
